Website Usage Policy & Terms

These Terms govern the use of the website and the online booking of car rental services provided by Olymp Rent & Sale Cars (hereinafter — the “Company”, “we”, “us”, “our website”). By placing an order on the website, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms.

1. Definitions

Renter — an individual entering into a rental. Additional Driver — a person authorized to drive and stated in the contract. Vehicle — the car provided for rent. Rental Agreement — the document signed upon vehicle handover. Security Deposit — an amount/authorization held to secure obligations.

2. Website Use Rules

  • The website is provided “as is” to submit inquiries and bookings. We may update content, prices, and availability without prior notice.
  • Prohibited: interfering with the website’s operation, scraping, unauthorized access, placing malicious code, attempts to bypass security measures.
  • You confirm the accuracy and currency of the data you enter (full name, contacts, age, driving experience, driver’s license number, etc.).
  • A booking on the website is a request. Final confirmation is sent after checking availability and conditions.

3. Booking & Payment

  • The price is indicated for the selected period and vehicle category. Additional charges may apply: extended insurance, child seats, second driver, late-night pickup/return, delivery and return outside the office, cleaning for heavy soiling, fuel, fines, and airport fees.
  • Prepayment/card guarantee may be required to secure the booking. Failure to pass payment verification results in cancellation.
  • We reserve the right to offer an equivalent or higher category if the selected one is unavailable.
  • Cancellation & changes: rules depend on the selected fare (flexible/non-refundable). See your booking confirmation for details.
  • Billing currency is euro (EUR). Bank fees due to exchange rate and conversion are borne by the Renter.

4. Renter Requirements & Documents

  • Age: from 23 years on the rental start date.
  • Driving experience: at least 2 years, documented.
  • Mandatory documents: passport/ID, valid driver’s license (and International Driving Permit if required), bank card in the main driver’s name.
  • All drivers must be listed in the contract. Third-party driving is prohibited.
  • The Company may refuse rental if requirements are not met or document authenticity is in doubt.

5. Security Deposit

  • Deposit from €300; the exact amount depends on the vehicle category, insurance coverage, and risk profile.
  • The deposit is pre-authorized on the main driver’s card at pickup and released after return, provided there are no outstanding balances, damages, or fines.
  • Release time depends on the card-issuing bank (typically 3–21 days).

6. Vehicle Pickup & Return

  • Pickup and return are carried out at the agreed location/office; transfers to/from Larnaca and Paphos airports are available.
  • At pickup, mileage, fuel level, body/interior condition, and accessories are recorded. We recommend photo/video documentation.
  • Late return: beyond the grace period (usually 30–60 minutes) an extra rental day may be charged.
  • Fuel policy: as per the contract (usually “full to full”). Shortage is charged at the current rate plus a service fee.
  • Mileage: if the fare includes a limit, any excess is charged at the stated rate.

7. Vehicle Usage Rules

  • Prohibited: off-road driving, on beaches, on closed/restricted roads; participation in competitions; towing; ferry crossings without written consent; leaving the Republic of Cyprus.
  • Smoking in the cabin is prohibited. A fee for tobacco odor/heavy soiling is charged according to the price list.
  • Transporting animals — only in carriers/covers and by prior agreement.
  • Fluids, fuel type, and tire pressure — as per the manual. Misfueling is entirely the Renter’s responsibility.
  • The vehicle may be equipped with telematics/GPS for safety and to monitor rental conditions.

8. Insurance & Liability

  • Basic coverage includes third-party liability within the limits provided by law. The deductible/excess is stated in the contract.
  • Options to reduce/eliminate the deductible are available (e.g., CDW/SCDW/FDW) — see fare description and contract for terms and exclusions.
  • Common exclusions include: damage when violating traffic rules, under the influence of alcohol/drugs, driving by an unlisted driver, in prohibited areas, damage to underbody/clutch/windows/tires/interior without extended coverage, etc.
  • Theft — according to fare conditions (TPL/TP may apply). Keys and documents must be returned; otherwise coverage may be voided.

9. Fines, Accidents & Breakdowns

  • Traffic fines, paid parking and other fees are borne by the Renter. The Company may withhold fine amounts and a service fee for processing.
  • Accident/damage/theft: notify the police and the Company immediately, do not leave the scene, fill in a report, provide photos/videos.
  • Breakdowns: contact us for instructions/towing. Self-repair is allowed only with the Company’s written consent.

10. Personal Data & Cookies

  • We process personal data to perform the rental agreement, billing, legal obligations, and to protect legitimate interests (e.g., fraud prevention, fine management).
  • Legal bases and your rights (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability) are exercised in accordance with GDPR and the laws of the Republic of Cyprus.
  • We use cookies and similar technologies for proper site operation, analytics, and service improvement. Cookie settings are available in your browser.

12. Limitation of Liability

  • The Company is not liable for indirect losses, lost profits, or website interruptions caused by third parties, force majeure, or maintenance.
  • The Company’s liability for any claim is limited to the amount actually paid by the Renter for the relevant services, unless otherwise required by law.

13. Force Majeure

The parties are released from liability for partial or total non-performance due to force majeure (including but not limited to: natural disasters, warfare, strikes, epidemics, infrastructure outages, regulatory bans).
